The ruins of Přimda Castle, the oldest stone castle in Bohemia, stand on the dominant hilltop of the town of Přimda in the Bohemian Forest.
The castle dates back to the 12th century and is an early Romanesque building. As an important border fortress, Přimda belonged to the Czech rulers and guarded the trade route from Prague and Pilsen to Horní Falce.
The castle is probably of German origin and bears no resemblance to Bohemian buildings of the era.
