The Světce Riding Hall near Tachov is the second largest riding hall in Central Europe (after the Spanish Riding School in Vienna). The man who brought it to life was General Alfred I, Prince of Windischgrätz.
He ordered the reconstruction of the crumbling Paulaner church in 1857, turning it into a romantic palace surrounded by enchanting nature. At about the same time, he decided to build a riding hall nearby, which was completed in 1861.
Today, the Světce Riding School is undoubtedly one of Bohemia's hidden architectural gems.
